The main idea of ‘ Karm Yoga’ throws  light on Karm which is work or duty. It advocates to leave the result in the hands of almighty [सर्वशक्तिमान यानी ईश्वर ] of what you do.

SUMMARY

The whole philosophy of Karma Yoga has been dealt by the narrator in eleven peragraphy of this lesson ‘ The Secret of Work’ .
1. The world is full of miseries. The miseries arise due to ignorance of mankind. The writer says ” Ignorance is the mother of all evil”.
One has to be spiritually strong and educated to ward off misery from his life. Mankind has to be made pure and prefect .
2. The effect of work is either good or bad. God Commands us to work will have good effect and bad  work will bring bad result. God Commands is to work incessantly. Do work but keep your soul out of bondage . It means that never involve yourself go have a desired result. This desire of man is the source of agony which should be avoided.
3. The writer or the narrator says that mind is just like a lake where the wave of thoughts rises and drowns at the end but it leaves a mark which means that the thoughts may reappear again. This reappearance of thoughts is part of your ‘Sanskara’ .
Each man’s character is determined by this Sanskara. If good impressions prevail, the character becomes good. The work done by him will be good and the result will be always good.
4. Swami Vivekanand says that making of character is like the formation of a shell of a tortoise. One may break the outer shell of the tortoise into pieces but the tortoise will not take out its feet and head once it tukes [अंदर छुपा लेना] both the organs into the shell. Man also control his organs and the inner motive to the suitability of his character and only a man of character can achieve truth. He can not do any evil.
5. We meet hundred of persons during the day. Out of this hundred some may be good , some may be bad. There may be one whom you love the most. At night when you go to bed , you remember only the best whom you love. The others just vanish from your mind.
6.  This world is not permanent habitation. It is one of the stops in the long journey of life and soul. So Swamiji says. ‘ Be unattended ‘. So you  work as you are a stranger in this land.
7. Do not work like a slave, work line a master. Ninety percent of man and woman work like a sleve and the result is misery and pain. A slave works without any pleasure in the work and so he can not find love in what he does. There is no act of love which can’t bring happiness in life. So that is the difference between the work of a slave and a master. The master’s work brings peace while the slave’s work brings misery.
8. Lord Krishna says: If I stop from work for a moment, the whole uni- verse will decay and die. Because, I love the world, I work incessantly but still I keep myself unattended.
9. As soon as one realized this point, his work is done and he has attached the goal.
10. Whatever you do for your child, a particular person, a city or a state expect nothing in return as you do not ask anything from your children for the work you have done for them . This will bring pleasure for you and you will remain unattended to this worldly bondage.
11. There are two things which guide the conduct of a man-might and mercy. The exercise of might is an act of selfishness. Mercy is heavenly.
To be good, one has to have mercy. The selfless and unattended person can live in the mid of crowded and sinful city but he will be carrying no sin. It is the Same way as the lotus leaf carries water drops on its body but the drops are unable to wet the lotus leaf. So mercy is the man’s real virtue.
